Have a say on taxi rank
1 min read

Local businesses and residents have an opportunity to have their say on the location of a taxi rank on Warragul.
The public consultation follows requests for Baw Baw Shire to consider relocating the existing taxi rank in Smith St.
Businesses and residents received letters on May 22 advising them of the proposal and opportunity for feedback.
Four options have been outlined by council. Business community members and residents are encouraged to notify council of their preferred option through its "Have Your Say" section on council's website.
The first option is no changes to the existing taxi rank and loading bays.
The second is to remove one loading bay and one car parking space in Napier St and replace them with two taxi bays. Two new car parking spaces on Smith Street would also be created.
Option three is to remove one loading bay in Napier St and replace it with one taxi bay. One new car parking space in Smith Street would be added under this option.
The final option is to remove both loading bays in Napier St and replace them with two taxi bays, creating two new car parking spaces in Smith St.
To express preference for one of the options above, traders and community members are invited to visit bawbawshire.vic.gov.au/TaxiRankRelocation and complete an online survey.
Mayor Annemarie McCabe said relocation of the Warragul central business district taxi rank was an important decision that directly impacted local businesses and taxi operators.
"We want to ensure that the final decision takes into account the needs and interests of all stakeholders involved.
"Your participation is crucial... Together, we can find a solution that most effectively serves our community."
The feedback gathered through the survey will be compiled and presented to council at a meeting later this year.
Feedback will be accepted until the close of business this Friday, June 9.
