The government's sporting club grants program for this year will focus on volunteers and officials in community sport.

Member for Eastern Victoria Melina Bath has urged clubs to submit applications quickly ahead of the March 27 closing date,
A significant portion of the fund will be for the volunteers and officials that are essential to the success of community sport, she shed.
Individual grants of $5000 are available to enhance the skills and knowledge of volunteers, coaches and officials and for initiatives aimed at improving volunteer retention.
Ms Bath said additional funding opportunities included up to $4000 to deliver new programs to the community, $1000 for uniforms and equipment and $750 to assist attending competitions away from home.
Clubs also can apply for funding towards competition administration, athlete travel and uniform costs that can add up for clubs in regional area, she added.
