Getting Tones' attention

Local fans of Australian pop musician "Tones and I" have banded together on Facebook, attempting to convince the singer to perform a concert in Warragul.

After seeing social media posts from the singer saying she would play a show in a regional town if enough people wanted her to come, local woman Jackie Thomas created the Facebook page "Tones and I please come to Warragul."
Jackie said her inspiration for creating the Facebook page was her eight-year-old daughter Olivia.
"(Olivia) loves Tones and I, when she (posted) on her social media that she'd come to (different towns) if people wanted her to, my daughter kept asking me to message her and ask her to come," Jackie said. "It's not always an option for people to travel to the city (for a concert) and I think it would be great for our community and our business (to have a show in Warragul)."
Inviting all her Facebook friends to like the Facebook page, Jackie started with a following of about 100 people.
"I was very scared at the start, I didn't want to put my name out there because I didn't think anyone was going to be interested," Jackie said.
It all changed when Tones and I herself commented on a post, making a deal to play a local pop-up show if the page reached 1000 likes.
In under a day, the page hit the target, receiving another comment from Tones reassuring the group that something was in the works.
"I was speechless," Jackie said. "I cannot believe we did it. I don't know where we go from here, she made the deal!"
For now, the ball remains in Tones and I's court, but Jackie and Olivia are excited to know that their page had been noticed.
