Gender plan progressing
1 min read

A resident has questioned Baw Baw Shire on its progress on gender equality.
Dr Rochelle Hine asked about the extent of resources and progress made on council's gender equality action plan during community questions at the recent council meeting.
Baw Baw Shire acting chief executive officer Martin Hopley said council had made progress over the past three years.
Mr Hopley said a 0.7 full-time equivalent staff resource had been allocated to develop the action plan and delivery of strategies were the "responsibility of a number of different areas across council".
"This progress is reportable through to the gender equality commissioner," Mr Hopley said, adding council was currently waiting commissioner feedback on its bi-annual progress report.
"Council continues to progress the delivery of the GEAP within its current resource plan," he said.
