FoI refused on report for rail line cancellation

The State Government has refused a freedom of information request for a report of reasons why the initially planned duplication of the rail line between Longwarry and Bunyip has been cancelled.
Member for Narracan Wayne Farnham, whose request for the environmental report was refused, said he'd now applied to the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal to have it released.
A second rail line between the towns was included in initial plans for the Gippsland Rail Upgrade to prevent delays to trains forced to stop when two were travelling in opposite directions.
