The inaugural First Responders Expo was held at the Warragul RSL recently.
The event, led by local veteran David Trippier, featured more than 20 organisations that support first responders and saw more than 60 first responders come together.
Information and resources were available from various services, and both current and former members and their families were welcome.
Warragul RSL president Ben Vahland said Mr Trippier came to him with the idea after the organisation held a successful event in June for military veterans.
Mr Valhand said the event saw some important relationship building going and many first responders took time to chat with people from various services.
Keynote speakers at the expo were Tim Peck from Phoenix Australia and Tony Pearce from Emergency Services Federation.
Mr Vahland said the Warragul RSL acknowledged the exposure to trauma and the work done by first responders and strongly encouraged them to join the Warragul sub-branch due to the shared experience of service.
He said the organisation had already seen some great success from the collaboration between the military and first responders.
"It would be remiss of me to not acknowledge our wonderful catering team, our planning committee members, Dave Trippier, Brett Kersten and Simon Blionk, and all from the RSL committee who gave up their time," Mr Vahland said.
The RSL plans to hold the expo annually.
