First-ever strategy for arts and culture

A creative communities strategy, the first-ever adopted by Baw Baw Shire Council, is set to guide council's investment in arts and culture over the next six years.
Endorsed unanimously by councillors, the strategy's 10 key focus areas are: inclusivity and diversity; West Gippsland Arts Centre programming; functions and events; community space; every child, every year; beyond the walls; arts and cultural industry development; members, partnerships and legacy; sharing our story; and culture and connection precinct masterplan.
When the draft document was released for community consultation it attracted 21 responses.
