Some dairy industry leaders say farmers will battle to break even over the next year if milk processing companies don't lift their opening farmgate prices.
Most processors have offered initial prices in the range of $8 to $8.50 per kilogram of milk solids for 2024-2025, a figure a Trafalgar East sharefarmer says will return the farm he works for about $300,000 less than the current year.
