Two self-care workshops have been organised in response to community demand.
Baw Baw Shire Council originally offered three free resilience workshops across three locations to enhance mental health of residents. However, due to demand, two more sessions have since been added.
Yarragon Bowls Club will host two sessions on Wednesday, February 19 and a second session on Wednesday, April 9; Longwarry Public Hall will be the venue on Wednesday, March 12; and, McGregor Hall in Trafalgar will host two sessions on Wednesday, March 26 and the newly added Wednesday, April 30.
All workshops will run from 9.30am to 2.30pm and registration is required.
The self-care workshops are designed to develop habits and activities that support physical, mental and emotional resilience over time.
The single sessions seek to empower attendees with practical strategies and tools for integrating self-care into daily life, discovering how to prioritise wellbeing, manage stress and cultivate a balanced lifestyle through engaging activities and guidance.
Participants will have the opportunity to create their own personal self-care plan to take home and implement.
In addition, Baw Baw Shire Council is offering "Be Business Ready" workshops in March.
Registration is now open for the series of free workshops and networking events focused on building resilience for small business in the event of a disaster.
Funded by the state government's "Council Flood Support Fund", the workshops aim to upskill business owners and managers to foster a thriving business community with connections and improved disaster resilience. Offered both in-person and online, a variety of dates and locations to meet difference needs will be available.
Baw Baw Shire mayor Danny Goss encouraged community members and small business owners to register for the free workshops.
"Whether you're looking to enhance your mental, emotional or physical health - or help your business become better prepared in times of crisis - these workshops will offer valuable, actionable insights and personalised support to help you thrive", Cr Goss said.
