Electricity network upgrades

Electricity network provider Ausnet will invest $47 million in Warragul and $5.5 million in other parts of Baw Baw Shire to improve reliability and cater for growth.
At Warragul, $31 million is being spent to rebuild sections of the town's substation and replace transformers. Planning is already underway and design and construction planned for the 2026-2027 financial year.
An additional $16 million investment will be spread over the next three years to run additional feeder lines to supply new as well as existing customers.
The money allocated elsewhere in the shire will upgrade critical lines to improve network resilience in storm events over the next two years.
Throughout eastern Victoria, Ausnet said it planned to spend $196 million over the next few years on upgrading the network.
