Fairview units meet homeless need

by Bonnie Collings
Twelve months on from opening, renovated units at Fairview Village Warragul have provided safe and affordable housing for eight people facing homelessness.

A partnership between Fairview Village and Quantum Support Services, the four refurbished units were designed to address the increased waiting-list for public housing in West Gippsland and a lack of options for single women over 55-years-old. The renovation project involved more than 50 tradespeople and $300,000 in donations. Since then the program has expanded, now also available to anyone aged over 55-years-old.
