Community key to success of independent movement

Political scientist Ann Capling likened the Monash electorate to the grassroots rural electorate of Indi where independent political representation grew to fame, when she spoke in Warragul last week.
She was guest speaker at the Voice for Monash Politics in the Pub gathering in Warragul last week.
Dr Capling spoke about her journey from the formation of Voices of Kooyong during COVID lockdowns, to becoming the campaign manager for community independent Monique Ryan - a process that lead to the unseating of the then federal treasurer in what was long considered the safest Liberal seat in the country.
