Chloe is lucky to be alive
1 min read

For Chloe Olsen of Poowong East, the closure of Main South Rd almost cost her life.
Following the birth of her daughter Marlee, Chloe had a medical emergency at home.
"Six weeks after having Marlee, I haemorrhaged at home on the bathroom floor," Chloe said.

"We called an ambulance and they couldn't get down to our address because of the road. They had to go all the way around and down Olsens Rd, which took them even longer.
"It took them 48 minutes to come from Leongatha which is usually a 35-minute drive."
Chloe's father Ross Olsen said his daughter was lucky to be alive.
"She was going into shock and was in and out of consciousness on the bathroom floor before (the paramedics) turned up," he said. "Chloe is lucky to be here."
"They (paramedics) said 10 more minutes and I wouldn't be here," Chloe added.
"They could have been here a lot quicker and avoided a lot of other issues. I lost over a litre and a half of blood."
Now pregnant with twins, Chloe and her family are worried about what might happen if another medical emergency should occur.
"I wrote in to the shire and they said 'sorry for the inconvenience', that's all I got which is pretty poor on their behalf," Chloe said.
