Students at Warragul and District Specialist School recently donated money raised through the school canteen program to the Corey Maric Youth Support Foundation.
Each year, profits raised through the school canteen program are donated to a local charity. In 2024, the program and some events run by the student representative council, raised a total of $3500 for the Corey Maric Youth Support Foundation, the largest amount to date.
The canteen program provides an opportunity for students to develop food handling, cooking, teamwork and problem solving skills.
Kate and Zvonko Maric from the Corey Maric Youth Support Foundation accepted a cheque from students involved in the canteen program and enjoyed morning tea made by the students.
The foundation's principle objective is to promote suicide and self-harm prevention of youth in regional areas.
