Long weekend campers at Coopers Creek were evacuated on Sunday morning when a fire near Rawson posed a threat to communities.
The Walhalla Rd, north of Tyers-Walhalla Rd remains closed as firefighters continue to monitor the blaze and the safety of trees is assessed.
Only a week after fire authorities warned of an horrific fire season ahead, several fires broke out in bushland across Gippsland.
More than 130 personnel were still on scene yesterday containing the blaze.
