Gippsland continues to have the unenviable reputation of having some of the highest rates of family violence in Victoria.
Baw Baw had 1123 police callouts for family violence incidents last year, ranking it 25 of the 79 local government areas in the state.
Neighbouring municipality Latrobe ranked number three with 2724 callouts, whilst East Gippsland holds the shocking number one ranking.
