Trafalgar edged out Lang Lang in a battle of who would remain in the A grade top five on Saturday.
Lang Lang held narrow leads at the first two breaks before Trafalgar led by three at the last change. They held on to win, 42-36.
The loss drops the Tigers to sixth on the ladder, whilst Trafalgar stay in fourth position.
Yarragon jumped into fifth with a 14-goal win over Poowong.
These two young and rapidly improving sides had a good battle throughout the first three quarters. However, the Panthers held a slight edge, leading by two, four and six at the breaks.
The Magpies ran out of steam in the last quarter, with Yarragon pulling ahead for a comfortable win.
Catani scored its first win of the season over Longwarry.
The going has been tough for the Blues so far. But, they put that aside, with a stunning final quarter to win 56-39.
Whilst they led at each change, the young Crows didn't let the margin grow out of control. The Blues led by one at quarter time, four at half-time and, again, four at three-quarter time.
However, experienced defender Danielle Hanley led the way in the last, as the goalers fired with 20 goals for victory.
In the final game, Neerim South had a strong victory over Buln Buln.
The teams traded goals early in the piece, with the Lyrebirds starting strongly to trail by just four at quarter time.
However, an 18 goal to six second quarter, opened up the margin.
Whilst the second half was relatively even, the Cats' half-tie lead was too much to overcome.
Next week's games: Ellinbank v Buln Buln, Neerim South v Yarragon, Poowong v Trafalgar, and Nilma Darnum v Longwarry. Lang Lang and Catani have byes.
