The West Gippsland Australian Stock Horse branch featured at the recent Korumburra Show.
The stock horses went through their paces the weekend before the show which featured the open class horses.
It was the second year the West Gippsland ASH branch had conducted its events ahead of the show, describing it as "perfect to bring out young horses and classes" away from the distraction of the amusements and noisy activities on show day.
Officiating judge Jade Gilbert and steward Jess Armstrong were impressed with the performances in all sections, including led and ridden classes and the finale of the time trial that drew a large crowd.
The time trial is over a form of obstacle course where horses and riders have to open and close a gate, negotiate a couple of jumps, canter around barrels and in and in and out of bollards and make some quick turns back and forth over poles.
The competitors race against the clock and receive a time penalty if they make an error during the runs. Organisers said it was a great display of the versatility of the Australian Stock Horse.
Spectators were delighted with the spectacle, their cheering and clapping rewarded with a re-run after the presentations of trophies to winners and placegetters.
