Gippsland Water has stressed the measures it has to help people pay their water and sewerage bills.
Managing director Sarah Cumming said the measures were able to help people meet the pressures of cost of living increases and extra expenses around the festive season.
She said Gippsland Water's customer care team was available to help those that need a little longer to pay a bill and provide information about longer term assistance.
There are a range of flexible payment plans customers can explore and the team can also help with applications for government utility relief grants, provide referrals to financial counsellors and to other government assistance programs.
Ms Cumming said flexible payments options included paying bills in smaller regular instalments tailored to individual needs or possible payment extensions.
