Round two of Baw Baw Shire's community grants program will open in early February.
Applications by appointment are now available and provide community groups the opportunity to meet council to discuss their project idea to ensure it aligns with grant guidelines.
The process also provides potential applicants with guidance on what to include in their application and clarity about the supporting documents which must be submitted reducing the likelihood of applications being incomplete or ineligible for assessment.
Applications open next Monday and close on February 28. Successful applicants will be announced in May.
Council's community grants program supports non-profit groups and organisations to undertake activities or make purchases that are for the benefit of the local community. The community projects funding supports the delivery of community events, projects, programs, environmental initiatives and equipment purchases. Grants of up to $5000 are available.
In September last year, council distributed more than $95,768 in round one of community grant funding through the community projects category, supporting 25 non-profit organisations and groups in the shire.
Mayor Danny Goss said he was thrilled to support this program, which backed our local community groups and ensured they could deliver important programs and services across the shire.
"Our local community groups are the fabric of our shire and this is one of many ways in which council supports them to continue their operations," he said.
