Warragul has recorded a month of rain in just 24 hours to kick start 2024.
A huge 54.4mm of rain was recorded to 9am on Monday in Warragul, just short of the long-term January rainfall average of 57.8mm.
It was more than triple last year's January rainfall total of just 15.6mm.
The rain started mid-Sunday afternoon and was steady the night, with rain heavier in some areas and flooding in Longwarry and Bunyip.
