About 200 people attended 150th anniversary celebrations at Drouin West Primary School on Sunday – the oldest operating school in West Gippsland.
A commemorative mural made possible through school community fundraising efforts was unveiled. The mural depicts the original school building painted by artists Bobby Bowers and Evie Cahir. Old photos and archives were on display and past students and staff returned for a question panel to share their stories about Drouin West through the decades. A time capsule to be opened in 2074 also was buried
