Singers and dancing filled the Bunyip Hall for the second annual “Kids X Factor”.
The Bunyip and District Community House organised event attracted 16 acts made up of 26 children from Morwell to Officer.

Community house coordinator Davina Veenstra said it was a very well attended event with parents, relatives and friends of performers filling the hall.

“It was our second year and it looks like we are going to keep it as an annual event,” said Ms Veenstra.

The winner was 15-year-old Megan Carew of Drouin who performed an acoustic version of Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud”.

“She was wonderful,” said Ms Veenstra.

The runner-up was Ava Rose Houben-Carter, aged seven, who performed “Somewhere over the Rainbow” and “Cups Song”.

Second runner-up was a tap dancing trio from Longwarry Primary School consisting of Tiarnee Browney, Lilly-Rae McDonald and Chloe Browney who performed “Dear Future Husband”.

Ms Veenstra said the three prize winners now had the opportunity to perform at the Bunyip Christmas Carols coming up on Friday, December 11.

She added the afternoon was a great opportunity to showcase what Bunyip and District Community House has on offer to local families.
