Trafalgar High School students were rewarded for dedication to their studies and other achievements at the school's annual presentation night before the end of term.
More than 200 awards were presented across all year levels of the school and several speciality areas including sport, music and design technology.
An impressive 600 members of the school community gathered for the function, which was supported by local businesses and community groups.
Academic excellence awards were presented to students who achieved academic results above 80 per cent in a subject in a semester.
In years seven to nine, students who had received eight or more awards during the year were presented with certificates, while senior year levels marked lower numbers due to the reduced number of subjects they undertake in a year.
Class endeavour awards, nominated by class teachers, were presented to students who showed consistent effort and a level of commitment to their learning each semester.
A key award of the night was the "Dorothy Hoare OAM Community Service Shield". The award is named after Dorothy Hoare, a member of the school council, who is also an established community leader and a volunteer of the Trafalgar Youth Resource Centre.
The recipient was Harry Pace, who has been instrumental in the school community as an informal leader in 2022. He inspired his cohort to support major fundraising efforts such as planning the World's Greatest Shave and raising money for bowel cancer.
School principal Brett Pedlow said Harry was an allrounder with a focus on academic outcomes, and approached his studies and school life with optimism.
"He embodies our school values of integrity and aspiration and acts as a strong role model for his peers and junior students," Mr Pedlow said.
During the evening, Harry also received a scholarship from Federation University.
