Forty young people from seven local secondary schools and education settings across Baw Baw Shire were inducted as youth mental health ambassadors at the recent Baw Baw Shire Live4Life crew induction day.
The group was made up of year nine and 10 students from Warragul Regional College, Drouin Secondary College, Trafalgar High School, Neerim District Secondary College, St Paul's Anglican Grammar School, Warragul and District Specialist School and CCG Secondary College.
The induction was an opportunity for the 2025 Live4Life Baw Baw crew to come together for the first time, get to know each other, learn more about the program and their important role, and work together to identify their values and goals for the year ahead.
Members of the Baw Baw Live4Life crew volunteer their time and act as ambassadors within their schools, family, social circles and the broader community. They advocate for the reduction of stigma surrounding mental health, encourage open conversations and promote help seeking behaviours, while also learning how to recognise the signs of developing mental health issues and the local support services that are available.
This is the sixth year that Baw Baw Shire has partnered with Live4Life.
