Embracing St Paul's Anglican Grammar School's core values of wisdom, integrity, compassion and respect, year five student Mavis Parke has had her long locks cut off to donate to Hair With Heart.
With the cheers of her peers supporting her, Mavis sat and let the hairdresser begin the process.
Her hair was divided into plaits and then cut off, one of which was performed by deputy head of Warragul Junior School Phil Barkla. Little did he know what was waiting for him when it was his turn to shave his hair.
Returning the favour, Mavis had the first pass with the shears on Mr Barkla's hair, prompting cheers and chants from the student body.
Hair With Heart is an organisation that creates wigs for children who lose their hair due to various medical conditions.
With the help of her peers across all year levels, as well as staff at the St Paul's Warragul Junior School, Mavis has been able to raise an incredible $3400 for the cause.
