Grade six students at Jindivick Primary School recently participated in a National Young Leaders Day in Melbourne.
Students listened to inspiring speakers from different walks of life including Robert (Dipper) DiPierdomenico (sport), Nazeem Hussain (comedian), Amanda Johnstone (business and tech inventor) and Candy Hertz (media).
Jindivick Primary School believes all students have the potential to be leaders.
Every grade six student has an opportunity at being school captain for one term throughout the year.
The students had a wonderful day and came away feeling inspired and ready to take on any challenge.
Chloe Hobson's reflection on Amanda Johnstone – "I loved the qualities of a leader that you showed: you were strong, smart, encouraging, exciting, resilient, brave and kind."
Jade Fitzgerald's reflection on 'Dipper' – "You inspired me to reach for the stars. One of the biggest leadership qualities that I see in you is 'loyalty'. I also saw courage, selflessness, trust and energy."
Mitchell Stewart's reflection on Nazeem Hussain – "You showed leadership by persisting through the hardest times through your childhood."
A favourite quote came from Dipper – "Success is nothing if you arrive at the finishing line alone."
