The mood at the annual Prep Grand Prix at St Paul's Anglican Grammar School's Drouin and Warragul campuses reached fever pitch recently with students and families coming together in friendly competition - all while driving some wildly imaginative cardboard cars.
At the Drouin campus, prep students collaborated with students in years one to three to design and decorate their turbo-charged creations using Textas and paint.
The preps then revved up their engines for the new campus' first-ever Prep Grand Prix at its family welcome barbeque. It was the perfect occasion for families to connect, cheer on the students and share in the race day excitement.
As the preps zoomed across the campus, parents didn't just cheer – they hopped into their kids' box cars and took to the racetrack to join the fun.
At the Warragul campus, the preps, supported by their year five buddies, also crafted their cars with flair - aiming for speed, style, and, of course, fun.
At the long-standing Warragul junior school's family welcome barbeque, families from early learning to year six bonded over food, fun and the sound of cardboard tyres screeching during their own grand prix. It was an evening full of laughter and connection, where everyone had the chance to meet new people and feel a sense of belonging within the school community.
Both events celebrated creativity, collaboration and connection. In the end, it wasn't just about crossing the finish line – it was about the connections made, the laughter shared and the memories created along the way.
