The Longwarry Primary School community came together recently to celebrate the start of the 2025 school year with a welcome breakfast.
The event, which aimed to foster connection and a sense of community, saw students, parents, carers, grandparents, and siblings gathering for a delicious morning meal of pancakes.
The breakfast provided an opportunity for families to mingle and connect with teachers and school staff. The atmosphere was filled with laughter and excitement as everyone came together to mark the beginning of a new school year.
The school's Positive Behaviour 4 Learning (PB4L) student leaders played a key role in the event. The students took the opportunity to gather valuable feedback from families regarding the school's wellbeing structures, supports, and referral processes.
Families were encouraged to share their thoughts on what was working well and offer suggestions for areas of improvement. The initiative also gave families the chance to provide input on future parent workshops, with the aim of tailoring them to meet the needs and interests of the community throughout the year.
School principal Anne Welsh said the "pancake breakfast was a fantastic way to kick off the new school year. It was heart warming to see so many families come together to share in this special occasion."
"This event not only allowed us to strengthen our sense of community but also provided valuable opportunities for us to listen to feedback from families about our wellbeing programs. We are committed to working together with our school community to ensure that every student thrives, and events like this play a key role in making that happen," she said.
The 2025 welcome breakfast was a successful start to the year, with families leaving the event feeling more connected and involved.
