Working together, students, staff and friends of St Paul's Anglican Grammar School recently completed 100,000 push-ups to raise funds and awareness for better mental health outcomes during the 2024 Push-Up Challenge.
The month-long challenge culminated in a celebratory closing event, hosted by year 12 student Penny Matthews, where students were challenged to participate in push-up competitions to win the chance to soak the prefects and one brave teacher Jake Sharp in freezing ice water.
All their hard, and cold, efforts paid off with the St Paul's student leaders team completing 30,569 push-ups throughout the challenge and raising $1710 for Lifeline Gippsland.
Overall, the entire St Paul's community completed 105,000 push-ups and raised a total of $7369.
Penny expressed gratitude to everyone in the community who donated, supported and participated in the challenge.
"Your efforts mean the most to me and the whole community, making such an important and inspiring contribution towards helping the issue of mental health in Australia," she said.
