Griffin a role model
1 min read

At the end of the 2023 school year, more than 200 awards were presented across all year levels at the Trafalgar High School presentation evening.
Awards recognised student achievements in sport, music, design technology, and academic excellence.
A key award for the evening was the "Dorothy Hoare OAM Community Service Shield".
The award is named after Dorothy Hoare, a member of the Trafalgar High School council whose mentoring programs support young people in the community.
Ms Hoare is an established community leader, recipient of an Order of Australia Medal and a volunteer of the Trafalgar Youth Resource Centre.
The recipient of the shield was class of 2023 student Griffin Stewart.
Griffin played an instrumental part in the school community as an informal leader in 2023.
He inspired his cohort to engage with major fundraising efforts like the World's Greatest Shave and supported the school's music programs including open mic nights, the night on the lawn music event and the battles of the bands.
During the award presentation, principal Brett Pedlow praised Griffin's work as a role model in the school community.
"Griffin is an allrounder with a focus on academic outcomes," Mr Pedlow said.
"He approaches his studies and school life with optimism and is very resourceful, he embodies our school values of integrity and aspiration and acts as a strong role model for his peers and junior students."
