Colourful creations at Neerim South Primary

Students at Neerim South Primary school have been getting creative - each contributing to a mural collage of student portraits.
All 152 students at the school contributed to the project, which took about eight weeks to complete.
Artist and art teacher Chetan Wadhwa spent time with the students in the lead-up to work on the mural beginning, teaching them how to paint portraits of themselves.
NSPS art teacher Cheryl Anstis said the students took turns working on the portraits which are now a feature on a school boundary fence.
She said the murals were a nice piece of history, preserving the names and faces of the students who attended NSPS in term four 2022.
"It's always been the principal's vision - and dream - to have a mural of all of the kids," Ms Anstis said.
"It's been a big project that has taken a lot of organisation and a lot of time, but the kids have really enjoyed it."
"We've noticed a lot of students after school, and before school, going up and pointing out where they are and showing their parents."
The students were very proud of their murals, and many were able to demonstrate great skill, creating portraits that greatly resembled their appearance.
"They loved it," Ms Anstis said.
