Bunyip newsletter sponsors four local student awards

Grade six students at Bunyip schools were recently presented with special awards.

Daisy O'Loughlin and Sevanna Reid from Columba Catholic Primary School and Makenzie Straughair and Ryder Turra from Bunyip Primary School were thrilled to receive their awards from Bunyip Community News valued at $250 each.
The Alcott-Freeman Award was presented to Daisy who said her favourite subjects at primary school were sport, netball, performing arts and maths. Sevanna was awarded the Mackillop Social Justice Award and said writing, sport, maths and netball had been her favourite subjects.
The students plan to use their prize money as a way of building up their savings.
Mackenzie, who has been a student at Bunyip Primary School since grade three, received the 2024 Spirit Award. Mackenzie said science and performing arts were her favourite subjects.
Ryder was awarded the Quiet Achiever Award after starting at the school in grade four. Ryder said he loved sport throughout school and his ambition is to one day be an AFL player like his hero Shai Bolton.
Mackenzie and Ryder expressed their gratitude to the Bunyip Community News for sponsoring their awards.
