Arcade alley - cardboard style
1 min read

Willow Grove Primary School celebrated Education Week recently by creating a sustainable "Cardboard Box" arcade.
Taking inspiration from the television documentary, Caine's Arcade, students and families were asked to create a cardboard box arcade game using recycled materials.
The week culminated when students brought their creations to school where they were set up throughout the building.
During the afternoon students and families tried out the games. There was a large and imaginative range of games on display including working pinball machines, throwing games, mystery boxes and an innovative claw grab. Some of the games even provided tickets and prizes.
Willow Grove Primary School has a strong focus on STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) subjects in its curriculum.
Among other STEM education activities, students in junior years learn how to write codes for robotics while the middle school students design technology projects with problem solving.
Students in the senior years of the school learn how to program Lego robotics as well as designing objects to be printed on 3-D printers.
