Students at St Paul's Anglican Grammar School recently put on three unforgettable shows in their production of "Puffs" (or Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic) The Young Wizard's Version by Matt Cox.
The performers shone brightly on stage in a hilariously entertaining community performance at the West Gippsland Arts Centre.
Students from years seven to 12 led the audience on a comedic journey through adolescence with a wizard filter in a hysterical story of friendship, failure and discovering the true meaning of heroism that seemed to resonate with both the young and young at heart.
The show's heartfelt success is a testament to the students' hours of commitment, the care and expertise of their director, St Paul's drama teacher Kylie Sinclair, and the additional support from the year 11 theatre studies class, who all put in 100 per cent to bring characters to life.
With so much hands-on behind the scenes work going on, it wasn't all about being on stage. Staff mentored students in set painting, props, hair and make-up, and sound and lighting operation, providing them responsibility to enhance their growth and skill development in the backstage theatre practices.
The students enjoyed the opportunity to participate in just one of the school's numerous co-curricular activities, personalising their learning experience and pursuing their unique passions.
