The St Ita's Catholic Primary School community recently came together to celebrate the retirement of Thérèse Meggetto.
Mrs Meggetto worked as an education support officer at the primary school for 28 years, supporting many students on their faith development journey through her involvement in the parish sacramental program.
Mrs Meggetto and her family played an integral part in the vision and development of St Ita's school in Drouin.
To celebrate her career within the Diocese of Sale, the school honoured Mrs Meggetto at the end of year mass.
The school choir performed "An Irish Blessing" in her honour, followed by the presentation of a handmade album, a guard of honour formed by grade five and six students and a morning tea for staff.
Reflecting on her time working at St Ita's, Mrs Meggetto said she felt honoured to have supported those around her.
"The honour of it all was to be in a position to support parents, students and staff, and share my deep faith," she said.
All staff, students and families from St Ita's wished Mrs Meggetto blessings for her retirement and thanked her for the years of dedication. They said she would be immensely missed.
