Drouin Primary School students, staff and families have worked with the West Gippsland Healthcare Group's health promotion team to create a healthy recipe book.
The healthcare group's Bec Creed has worked with the school community to create a book full of healthy breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack recipes, assisting the school with the editing and a seed grant for publishing.
The book was published in time for Mother's Day and was launched at the school's Mother's Day stall. Bec attended the launch and presented four lucky families with their prizes for contributing to the book.
The book was so popular that the first print run sold out. A second print run is in progress and the book will continue to be available from the school's office for $5 per copy.
Drouin Primary School has been part of the Vic Kids Eat Well program since February 2023. With support of WGHG, the school aims to provide a healthy environment where kids can thrive and learn.
The school runs a healthy eating week, made changes to its canteen menu and switched up some of the offerings at breakfast club to include many tasty, nutritious food and drink options.
