Darnum Primary School hosted its first learning showcase day on August 19.

The purpose of the day was to invite parents to attend classes at the school and experience life through the eyes of their children and staff.

The doors were open to parents at 2.30pm and each classroom invited parents to be involved in maths and literacy activities.

Parents were also encouraged to visit other classrooms to see the different skill and development levels of the students as they progress through primary school.

Families returned to school at 6.25pm to see how specialist classes operate.

Students conducted a musical performance and parents were able to try out experiments in the science centre.

The mobile school library van was also at the school throughout the evening, with parents able to experience the range of books and borrowing systems available to their children.
