Darnum Primary School received a Flying doctors’ stopover on Wednesday March 25 with a visit from the Look Up! In the Sky education program.
The visit featured the aero-medical simulator and a life-size replica of a Flying Doctors plane fuselage fitted out with communication and medical equipment.
Students climbed inside to see how the medical equipment works. They also had an opportunity to be strapped into a stretcher, try on the headphones and speak into the microphones.
RDFS attends to more than 800 patients every day.
Program manager Tom Ryan said public support and donations by Victorians played a crucial role in keeping the Flying Doctors in the air.
