Book Week at Bunyip
1 min read

Warragul and Drouin Gazette, September 8, 2015

Bunyip Primary School celebrated Book Week with a number of special events and activities.

Students created their own bookmarks and made their own origami houses to complement this year's shortlisted books from the Children's Book Council of Australia.

Students also received a visit from author Susie Sarah, who undertook a reading and discussed how a book is made.

Susie promoted her new releases The Bunyip in Fiery Creek and Wilberforce the Wombat.

The annual book character dress up day on Tuesday again proved to be a highlight.

All students and staff dressed up as one of their favourite book characters.

A special assembly was held in the morning where students paraded in their costumes in front of family and friends.

Costumes were related to many popular children's books including The Witches, Billie B Brown, The Wizard of Oz, Aladdin, Where's Wally, The Cat in the Hat and traditional fairy tales including Little Red Riding Hood, The Three Little Pigs, Cinderella and Rapunzel.

Liam Edwards and Seth Dalgleish impressed with their costumes.
