Local kids had a great time during the holidays when the National Gallery of Victoria’s Kids on Tour program visited Trafalgar Public Hall.
The program offered a variety of fun and free activities for those who attended and smiles could be seen all around.
“Let’s Make Art” was this year’s theme, which shared activities from the recent NVG kids exhibition “Making Art: Imagine Everything is Real” - which was based on the methods used by leading European artists that were in “The Picasso Century” exhibition.
Throughout the day children engaged in activities like collage, poetry writing, turning shapes into sculptures and surrealist games.
Creative industries minister Steve Dimopoulos said this year’s program was the “largest ever” delivered by NGV.
“Victoria is the creative state and the free NGV Kids on Tour program is one of the ways we are ensuring that all Victorians have the chance to unleash their inner artist and enjoy the best creative experiences close to home,” he said.
