A photographic exhibition created by local photographers Russell and Carol Monson will open at the Red Tree Gallery in Jindivick on Sunday.
Titled "Glasgow to Skye", the exhibition features photographs and textile pieces from Russell and Carol's adventure through Scotland, attempting to showcase the environment in a different perspective to that of a travel agent.
During their time in Scotland, the pair worked with Nick Hanson, a photographer from the Skye Photo Academy.
"Carol and I spent a month on the Isle of Skye and a week either side touring various parts of Northern Scotland," Russell said. "We spent one day a week of the month we were (in Skye) working with Nick. He took us to some of his favourite spots and showed us some of his techniques. We've tried to translate the wilderness, the open spaces of Scotland and Skye into our exhibition."
One of the skills they developed during their time working with the Skye Photography Academy was intentional camera movement.
"We learnt a lot about taking time to compose good landscape (images) and to get correct exposures," Russell said. "We both did a bit of practicing with a technique called intentional camera movement which is where you intentionally take blurry photos by moving the camera to create coloured patterns on the image."
"(Intentional camera movement) is just beautiful, it evokes this lovely gentle movement," Carol said. "Getting your camera controlled in a way to produce an image as your movement is really hard!"
Carol said some of the stories conveyed in the exhibition included open spaces, preservation of the environment and the concept of loneliness in landscape.
"Each set of photographs and textiles is (centred) around a particular theme," Carol said.
"We've got a theme of lochs, just looking at the calming waters, (a theme) of old boats in black and white, and a theme which we called wide open spaces which is has some stunning landscapes in it."
"I've got one very big (image) which is a tree on the edge of a loch, and it's blown by the wind," Carol said. "The sense of space and timelessness in that particular area was just stunning."
Looking ahead to the exhibition opening this Sunday, Russell said he was looking forward to opening comments provided by their friend and mentor, Nick Hanson.
"We're hoping that Nick will be able to open the exhibition for us," Russell said. "He's not going to be available for a live transmission but he's going to prerecord something for us to screen at the (Red Tree Gallery) to open the exhibition."
Russell and Carol's exhibition "Glasgow to Skye" will open at the Red Tree Gallery in Jindivick on Sunday at 2pm.
The exhibition will remain on display until Wednesday November 27.
