An exhibition showcasing the theme "Pilgrims of Hope" is currently on display in the Marian Room at St Joseph's Church in Warragul.
Part of the 2025 Catholic Jubilee Year, the local exhibition was designed to honour artists within the Catholic Diocese of Sale.
A committee made up of parishioners, clergy and local artists organised the event, putting the call out to local artists.
Fr Brendan Hogan explained the exhibition's connection to the Jubilee Year.
"This year is a Jubilee Year and the Vatican listed particular charisms, gifts, ministries that need to be honoured each month," Fr Brendan explained. "During the month of February, artists were one of the honoured groups."
About 20 artists from across the diocese are featured in the Jubilee of Artists exhibition. A mixture of existing pieces and works created specifically for the exhibition, each artwork on display represents a personal interpretation of the 2025 Jubilee theme "Pilgrims of Hope".
"We're all on a journey, coming from different places but are all full of hope, so that's what the artworks are about," Deacon Mark Kelly said.
"Art has always been important to the church," committee member Melissa Vaca added. "It's always been thought of as a way of lifting the heart and mind to God."
Bishop Greg Bennett blessed the exhibition following mass on Sunday February 23. The mass also showcased performing artists with a musical performance by parishioners from Timor-Leste.
The Jubilee of Artists exhibition will be on display in the Marian Room at St Joseph's Church in Warragul until Friday, March 7.
The Marian Room will be open each day between 10am and 2pm.
