Drouin footballers had one million reasons to smile despite being caked in mud when they trudged off their ground over the weekend.
It may be one of the last times players, both male and female, will face the subpar surface following a $1 million boost to resurface the oval.
Member for Eastern Victoria Harriet Shing announced the grant to help fund the $4.1 million upgrade works in front of a small group of committee members at Drouin Recreation Reserve on Friday afternoon.
