This store offered a federal timber yard, ironmongery, grocery and general store.
William Charles Fuhrmann ran the store that stood on the corner of Princes Way and Main South Rd from around 1897 until 1927.
William arrived in Drouin around 1882 and set up a sawmill plant on the property of John McNeilly. He had a number of mills on at least five different sites.
In around 1900, he got a contract to supply sleepers to an island in the Pacific.
William was born in Collingwood in 1861, one of 14 children. He married local girl Fredericka Rees in 1885 and they had nine children, all born in Drouin.
The couple retired and moved to Corowa in New South Wales to join one of their sons around 1929. William died in 1935.
