Warragul’s wins in all four football and two netball games on Sunday landed it the Warragul and Drouin Gazette Cup for the first time since 2009.

Drouin had prevailed the last 14 times the clubs had met.

The older heads at Warragul can’t remember the last time Warragul had won all of the football matches against Drouin, or against any other club for that matter.

An early fright kicked Warragul into gear and on the way to a strong win in the senior game against Drouin to continue its push for the “five”.

The percentage boost from a 20-19 to 5-6 win was still not enough to lift the Gulls into the top group but they are level on the ladder on premiership points with 4th and 5th placed Moe and Morwell.

On the netball courts Warragul got things rolling with a win by the 13 and Unders and the ladder leading C-graders continued their undefeated run.

Drouin got the points in the 15 and Unders, 17 and Unders and A and B grades.
