St Paul's Anglican Grammar student Caleb Serong has been selected in the School Sport Victoria football team for the second time.
Caleb also played in the SSV under 12 team alongside Brock Smith of Newborough, with the pair winning selection in the under 15 team this time around.
Underpinning just how difficult it is to win selection for the side, Caleb is one of five players from country Victoria selected with the remaining 20 members of the squad all from metropolitan Melbourne.
The team will compete in the School Sport Australia Australian Football championships to be held at Maroochydore, Queensland in July.
It will be Caleb's second trip to Queensland for a national championship this year, having also represented his state in cricket.
The selection process for the football team began in March, with the final team of 25 comprising of students from across the state.
The students competed in a number of competitions to win selection into the SSV team.
Many past SSV students have gone on to compete in the TAC Cup, AFL national championships, VFL and AFL.
Caleb, who plays under 16s locally with the Warragul Gulls, will also line up for Gippsland Power in AFL grand final week for the V/Line Cup.
